- A seminar on the critique of the practice of Istibdal ( ) from an Islamic Law perspective.

- The Department also operates 3 internal schools of debate known as the ………..(Maqasidiyyun), ………. (Usuliyyun) and ……………… (Fuqaha) these schools comprise students of all levels in the department who occasionally compete to discuss engaging, trending, academic and scientific issues from all fields of endeavor. The last debate was on ‘’ Islamic Law and Technologically Engineered Cycle of Life: Artificial Wombs, Neural Chips and Cryonics’’.
- Weekly Court visits to the Kwara State Shari’ah Court of Appeal by final year students for court sessions observation and interactive sessions with the judges of the court.
